Heritage is run by Joseph R. Gregory, Jr.  Mr. Gregory has been involved in the investment business for the last 20 years and founded Heritage in 2002.  Prior to starting Heritage, he was in private equity for five years with earlier corporate experience at Bank of America and Duke Energy. 

Mr. Gregory graduated from Vanderbilt University's Business School with an MBA in Finance and Marketing.  Prior to business school, he graduated from The School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University. 

While at Wake Forest, Mr. Gregory met a former CEO of a major company within Gulf & Western's conglomerate.  Immediately following graduation, Mr. Gregory joined him and his wife on their 50 foot Hinkley sailboat as his first mate for the following seven months.  Not only was experienced gained in the world of sailing but this was a valuable internship in the investment arena.  That former CEO and captain became the first client of Heritage and continues as a major client as well as advisor today.
